Ahead of Daft Punk, Mylene Farmer,etc,etc is one rising artist in french music who did his breaktrought in music several years ago with the popular "Alors on Danse", his name is Stromae.
And this year is, by far, his year in our neighbour country.
"Racine Caréer" was released last August and it has spent 10 non consecutive weeks in the top spot of the album chart in France, moreover, the first two singles form the album took also the first position in the single chart. Wao!
So here it´s what french people listen nowadays....
Este año, la música francesa tiene un nombre propio Stromae, si bien es cierto que ha sido el año del revival de Daft Punk, franceses solo de procedencia porque todo su disco "Random Access Memories" está en un perfecto inglés. Volviendo al belga, su álbum ha conseguido ser número 1, 10 semanas consecutivas, vamos un #PabloAlborán en potencia. Y sus dos primeros singles también consiguieron ubicarse en el nº1 de las listas francesas.

The song called "Hard out here" is a satiric critique about music nowadays and the oversexualization of women in the music-videos all sweetened by her perfect voice.

La deslenguada por excelencia del reino de la música regresa a la escena musical con un single que me ha alegrado el día ,la semana y casi el mes jajaja....Vale es cierto que no me lo esperaba y que ya la he reproducido unas 20 veces, pero creo que es simplemente PERFECTA de cabo a rabo, una crítica a la música actual y al papel sexualizado de la mujer en todos los vídeos, todo aderezado con su voz tan suave y dulce que parece que te está diciendo guapo y bonito, cuando , en realidad, se está cagando en tus muertos XD! Me encanta y sí se nota que la he echado de menos.

They are criticized because they always do the same kind of music ( f**k you haters!) but for me they could be doing the same music forever and ever....they are KEANE, and this week they´re releasing their first compilation album, and it´s a good day for you to discover (or remember) this english band.
Just a note, their first studio album , met with commercial success and critic acclaim, is inside the top 10 selling albums of this century in UK, and all of their studio albums take the 1st position there.

Yes, the last studio album of Nelly Furtado, "The Spirit Indestructible" was one of the most shocking commercial failures ever!, and I still can´t understand why.
Ok maybe it wasn´t her best work, specially considering that her last english studio album "Loose" is considered as one of the must have album of the 00´s and its shadow was quite large...
Si...El último trabajo de la Furtado "The Spirit Indestructible" ha sido uno de los mas impactantes fracasos comerciales de la historia musical, pero aún me encuenta entender el por qué...o por qué hasta ese grado.
Vale! Posiblemente no haya sido su mejor disco, especialmente considerando que su último álbum en inglés fue el impresionante "Loose" disco del que se extrayeron la friolera de 9 singles durante 3 años! toma ya.
Por tanto la sombra era muuuy larga.
During all of these years Nelly Furtado is probably the singer with "less balanced" career in mainstream music. She won the grammy for the best vocal performance in 2002 with her famous "I´m like a bird", and being one of the most talked newcomer in music industry by that time... then she flopped so hard with her second album , but then she released one of the most played albums ever by a female singer (and the best selling album of the past decade in huge markets like Germany where she is a kind of goddess), a couple of years later she dared to create a spanish album "Mi plan", well received by critics and fans, but with only one moderate success "Manos al aire".In the previous year I have to mention that she colaborated with James Morrison creating one of the most played radio songs ever in Uk...again in english, "Broken Strings" just a perfect ballad.
And yes, last year she released "The spirit indestructible" and nowadays the album has sold only 150.000 copies worldwide, how could this be real? specially for an artist that has sold more than 20 million copies of albums worldwide?
I have the answer, despite my dream it´s to work in music industry, sometimes this industry is so cruel. But she will be forever and ever one of my favourite artists, maybe I don´t mention her as much as Britney , Madonna or Björk but she is written in my life ;D Thanks Furtado!!!
Durante todos estos años Nelly posiblemente haya sido la artista con una carrera menos equilibrada del pop comercial. Ganó un grammy con su primer hit internacional "Im like a bird" y estaba en boca de todos, un par de años después lanzó su segundo disco que fue un auténtico fracaso comparado con las ventas y repercusión del primer disco, y de nuevo volvía al mayor éxito internacional que ha tenido con "Loose" un álbum que es simplemente perfecto de principio a fin, y que con canciones como "Te busqué" "All good things come to an end" y especialmente una de las canciones mas descargadas y exitosas, me atrevería a decir de la historia, "Say it right" se ubicaba como la solista femenina mas vendedora del 2007, en el 2008 lanzó la preciosa "Broken Strings" con James Morrison, un hit en todo el mundo y en España sonó hasta en la sopa, en 2009 se atrevía con un disco en español( sí la tía es atrevida y arriesgada jeje :P) y se dió un "ostión" en los charts pero nos dejó temazos como "Manos al aire" o "Bajo otra luz" pero fue el año pasado cuando se hundió en los mas oscuro con "The Spirit indestructible"....y no! no hay justicia en el mundo de la música, aunque para mi siempre sera mi Nelly Furtado, quizás no la mencione tanto como a Britney o Madonna, pero forma parte de la BSO de mi vida :D. Gracias Furtado!

No matter that the video is a full of shit....The song is his best eeeeveeer! Even better than his signature song with guess who????? Rihanna and "We found love" (lucky bitch :S). The music industry is soo mean...just because when you heard "we found love" automatically you associate the song with RiRi...but hell no!!! she´s only the performer of this gem, and Calvin is the creator...whatever that´s life!
There´s only a few dance songs that makes me shiver, and this is one of them, hope you enjoy it!!
OK! el vídeo es una soberana mierda, pero se trata de uno de los mejores singles (para mí el mejor) que el DJ británico ha creado en sus ya mas de 6 años de carrera. La "sortuda" de Rihanna tiene el honor de haber cantado uno de los temas mas icónicos de los últimos años "We found love", tema producido por Calvin Harris...pero ella se llevó todos los méritos, así es la música. Desde luego esta canción esta en mi top 10 de canciones dance de todos los tiempos, y así de paso hago que se conozca un poco mas la carrera del gran Calvin Harris. You used to hold me!
